About Adela
Are you often so overwhelmed by starting tasks that you find yourself putting them off instead? Are you completing assignments on time but losing credit due to late submissions? Are you struggling to get and/or stay organized?
These are all signs of an underlying executive functioning skills deficit. EF deficits often look like poor time management, task initiation, and organization. These skills are critical to academic and career success but are rarely ever explicitly taught.
I have been working with individuals with EF challenges for over 6 years. I take a two-pronged approach based on neuroscience and pedagogical research when working with my clients: teaching practical EF strategies to address immediate problems and strengthening underlying EF skills for long term behavioral change.
I am also very familiar with the IEP and 504 process and am comfortable connecting with teachers regarding integrating my clients’ EF strategies into the classroom.
I earned my B.A. in Human Biology from Stanford University with a concentration in Language & Learning. I have an M.S. in Clinical Psychology from Palo Alto University and am completing my PhD in Neuropsychology.

Hi there! I'm a Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW) with over six years of experience working with kids and adolescents. I have experience working with ADHD, self-confidence, issues at school, anxiety, depression, and life shifts and stressors. My journey in counseling has been all about creating safe, supportive spaces where young people can explore their feelings and develop coping skills.
I specialize in using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and play therapy techniques, which allow me to connect with my clients in a fun and engaging way. I believe that therapy should feel like a collaborative adventure, so I work hard to make our sessions both meaningful and enjoyable. Whether it's through interactive games or creative activities, I strive to help clients express themselves and find unique solutions to life's challenges.
Outside of work, I love spending time with my family, exploring nature, and diving into a good book. I’m passionate about helping young people navigate their unique journeys, and I’m excited to be a part of their growth and healing process!
